Laurie MacDonald, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, came to Womansplace with several years experience in the public sector as a fundraiser, politician and non profit consultant. Since 2002, Laurie has elevated Womansplace from a nearly bankrupt agency into a complete continuum of care, full service domestic violence agency. Under her leadership, Womansplace has been the grateful recipient of, The Forbes Funds Alfred W. Wishart, Jr. Award, The Athena Award and many other local community partner and business leadership awards.



Fran Trimpey

As the Development Director, Fran’s primary focus is to maintain strong relationships with existing donors and develop and seek out new donors and connections which can be utilized to improve and expand Womansplace programs and services.
Fran is involved in community outreach, traditional and all aspects of social media, which creates a positive image for Womansplace and attracts the interest of contributors. In addition, she initiates and oversees all fundraising events.
Fran is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, PPGC, and BizChicks. In 2010, she was selected for the Chamberlain Scholarship to attend the International AFP Conference held in Chicago.



Amy Cortes

Amy Cortes is a Cum Laude graduate of Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting. Amy is responsible for all financial aspects of the agency including budget development, payroll, accounts receivable and payable. Among her many accomplishments, Amy is most proud to have played a part in the growth of the Womansplace organization over the past 9 years.



Bethany Wingerson

Bethany Wingerson, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, has worked as the Program Coordinator for Womansplace since 2002. In her position, Bethany oversees all aspects of the direct service programs including Emergency Shelter, Legal Advocacy, Counseling, and Transitional Housing. In this effort, Bethany strives to provide victims of domestic violence the highest quality of service possible.
