The hotline is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Anyone seeking assistance regarding a domestic violence situation can reach a trained advocate at any time. The hotline can be used to request emergency shelter or to discuss any aspect of a domestic violence situation.

Shelter

Emergency shelter is available for victims of domestic violence and their families who need of safe place to stay. Our shelter provides victims and their children with a safe and supportive environment in which they can take steps towards achieving a safe and violence free life.

Safety Planning

A trained advocate will work with any person receiving Womansplace services to develop a personalized safety plan tailored to the victims’ particular situation. Safety planning can be done over the hotline, during a shelter stay, or during non-resident counseling sessions. If you need help knowing how to stay safe, we can help.

Non-Resident Counseling

You do not have to stay in the emergency shelter to receive Womansplace counseling services. A Domestic Violence Counselor is available by appointment to provide supportive counseling and to help victims of domestic violence realize their options and plan for safety.

Children’s Advocacy

Our Child Advocate provides counseling to children who have been victims of or witness to domestic violence. Age appropriate activities are used to help children cope with domestic violence and to teach them how to stay safe.

Legal Advocacy

Womansplace Legal Advocates help victims of domestic violence understand their options and help guide them through the legal process. Legal Advocates are present in local magistrate offices, downtown at PFA court, and can help victims obtain an Emergency Protection from Abuse Order.

Transitional Housing

The Transitional Housing Program is designed to offer temporary housing to women and children who are experiencing a domestic violence crisis and are in need of housing. A Case Manager works with the residents to create a plan towards permanent housing, safety, and self-sufficiency.
